A Relationship With The Sublime

Yesterday we decided to go to Westfield in order to look for some christmas presents. Christmas, in all its coziness, always reminds me of the whole palette of reds and golds so with all the cheerfulness of the occasion I decided to go for the look arranged of those colours. Christmas Special: London Window Displays Part 1

Once a year most shops in London are attempting to get ahead of one another in bringing the Christmas magic into their window displays. Wandering around city centre one can stumble upon, very detailed and beautifully lit, visual arrangements that truly stimulate one's imagination. Every year whole districts are being transformed into a snowy fairytales with most beautiful Christmas displays at Selfridges, Harrods, around shops in Mayfair, Chelsea and Notting Hill. We decided to grab a camera and immortalize those compelling (yet, sadly, so temporary) sets.

Here's the ones we found at Mayfair's Ralph Lauren store. Those beautiful displays set as theatrical stages with reference to Russian style reminded us of sort of modern version of Anna Karenina. Loved it. Very elegant and very dramatic.

2 days ago we had an opportunity to take a quick glimpse at fashionistas and celebrities gathering on the red carpet of Somerset House for the exclusive private view for Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore! Exhibition. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the skull scarf, Alexander McQueen presents an exclusive collaboration with
Damien Hirst.

The iconic skull scarf has been a signature accessory of the house first seen in the 2003 Irere collection.

The Damien Hirst and Alexander McQueen scarf collection consists of 30 one-off designs. Each is adapted from Hirst’s Entomology series – butterflies, bugs, spiders and other insects have been worked to form kaleidoscopic geometric shapes, laid out to create the signature McQueen skull motif. The collaboration seamlessly plays on the shared aesthetic vision of Hirst and McQueen, in which an interest in symmetrical design is combined with strong references to the natural world.

The collection offers 30 unique designs exclusively available from Alexander McQueen boutiques and online at alexandermcqueen.com from Friday 15th November.
